Also known as regression therapy, analysis is more exploratory in nature. Contrary to suggestion therapy, the main purpose of this form of hypnotherapy is to find the root cause of a person’s troubles. 

The hypnotherapist first hypnotizes the person by relaxing them and then enters their psyche to uncover all things they’ve hidden in it. The goal is to get it all out of their head so that they can move past those unpleasant experiences.

The analysis doesn’t necessarily change the individual’s behaviour, rather it just gets out the reasons for that behaviour which are later treated using psychotherapy.
